about

'Girl in the Picture' from a memory in London 1969. Lyrics & music by Jonnie Miles.

lyrics

I once knew that girl in the picture
The one with the faraway eyes
Like in the song by The Stones
I really had to sympathize

If I can get my facts straight, she was traveling by herself
Just came in on a flight from Rome
It was raining here in London
And I was also far from home

Girl in the picture
Where are you now
Shouting from the rooftops
Searching in the crowd

I was living in a basement in Earl’s Court
A friend had told her where to come
She laughed and said she was hungry
I remember thinking she looked so young

There was something about her, you couldn’t put your finger on
Very close but hard to reach
Floating around, running away
She said her name was Lucinda Beach

Girl in the picture
Where are you now
Shouting from the rooftops
Searching in the crowd
